Tematem artykułu jest analiza szans i wyzwań związanych z bezpieczeństwem militarnym państw otaczających Morze Bałtyckie. W szczególności opisano problem bezpieczeństwa transportu morskiego oraz innej działalności gospodarczej związanej z morzem. Szczególna uwaga została zwrócona na możliwe scenariusze „wojny hybrydowej” w tym regionie. W oparciu o możliwą charakterystykę zagrożeń istotnymi aspektami są postulowane zmiany w organizacji oraz sposobach wykorzystania sił morskich, formacji granicznych oraz wojsk specjalnych.

The article aims to analyze the chances and challenges related to the military security of states surrounding the Baltic Sea. Notably, the problem of the protection of maritime traffic and other sea-related economic activities shall be described. Particular attention shall be given to possible scenarios of “hybrid warfare.” Based on possible threats characteristics, several aspects of changes in organizations and ways of employment of naval forces, border, and coast guard forces and special operations forces.

Commander Witold Zajączkowski played a significant role in the development of the Navy of the Second Polish Republic. In this formation he held many responsible functions: he was, among others the director of science at the Naval Officer School in Toruń, commander of the Riverine Flotilla of the Polish Navy in Pinsk (Polesie) and the head of the Polish Naval Mission in Canada. After the war he remained in emigration in Canada.

Komandor Witold Zajączkowski odegrał znaczącą rolę w rozwoju Marynarki Wojennej II Rzeczypospolitej. W formacji tej pełnił wiele odpowiedzialnych funkcji: był m.in. dyrektorem nauk w Oficerskiej Szkole Marynarki Wojennej w Toruniu, dowódcą Flotylli Rzecznej Marynarki Wojennej w Pińsku (na Polesiu) oraz szefem polskiej Misji Morskiej w Kanadzie. Po wojnie pozostał na emigracji w Kanadzie.

The Military Internal Service of the Navy functioned within the Headquarters of the Military Internal Service from 1957 to 1990. It was a military special service tasked with counterintelligence and policing activity. Between 1957 and 1990, the unit was headed in sequence by five commanding officers. These were: Cmdr Mikołajczyk, Cmdr Lieutenant Kiszczak, Cmdr Krupa, Cmdr Miernicki, Cmdr Prokaziuk. After the political transformation in Poland in 1990, the Military Internal Service was disbanded throughout the country.

Wojskowa Służba Wewnętrzna Marynarki Wojennej funkcjonowała w ramach Szefostwa WSW latach 1957–1990. Była wojskową służbą specjalną o charakterze kontrwywiadowczo-porządkowym. W ciągu tego czasu kierowało nią pięciu szefów. Byli to: kmdr Mikołajczyk, kmdr por. Kiszczak, kmdr Krupa, kmdr Miernicki, kmdr Prokaziuk. Po transformacji ustrojowej w Polsce w 1990 r. Wojskowa Służba Wewnętrzna została rozwiązana w całym kraju.
