W artykule dokonano analizy sposobu, w jaki tybetańscy mnisi zostali przedstawieni w książce Heinricha Harrera Sieben Jahre in Tibet. Mein Leben am Hofe des Dalai Lama (w polskim tłumaczeniu znanej jako Siedem lat w Tybecie: moje życie na dworze Dalajlamy). Przedstawiono codzienne życie mnichów oraz ich wpływ na ówczesne państwo i społeczeństwo tybetańskie. Równocześnie zwrócono uwagę na wpływ europejskiego pochodzenia oraz (w małym stopniu) sympatii nazistowskich Heinricha Harrera na jego postrzeganie obcego mu kulturalnie i religijnie Tybetu.

The article examines the way the Tibetan monks had been portrayed in Heinrich Harrer’s book Sieben Jahre in Tibet. Mein Leben am Hofe des Dalai Lama (in English translation known as Seven Years in Tibet). An analysis of the monks’ everyday life and their influence on the state and Tibetan society is conducted. Attention is drawn to the influence of Heinrich Harrer’s European and (to a small extend) Nazi background influencing his perception of the foreign reality of Tibet.
In this article, the author wanted to show the specific for Orthodoxy – topos Her defender. As demonstratedby this topos is universal for any kind of holiness. Starting from the Martyrs ending the Hierarchs and Ascetics, inthe Orthodox Church, there is a never-ending battle for Purity of the Faith in Christ. In this paper author have shown thethree main determinants for the Fight of Faith: 1) Holy Zeal, 2) Holy Pride and 3) Holy Insubordination. To confirm histhesis the author gives some examples from the history of the Eastern Orthodox Church. At the same time author usingthe patristic and liturgical texts.
