The paper concentrates on Karel Statečný’s contribution to the field of moral theology and ethics. It evaluates the current discourse on Statečný’s life and work, his activity in the Department of Moral Theology in České Budějovice and his attempt to establish a new concept of ethics. Finally, it sets out a hypothesis regarding the persistence of the Statečný’s concept of ethics in the Czechoslovak Church after his death in 1927.

In the present collective study the members of the Department of Systematic Theology at the Cyril and Methodius Theological Faculty of Palacky University in Olomouc respond to the encyclical of Pope Francis Laudato si’. First, they point out that the encyclical amounts to a strong defense of the Christian approach to problems of the environment. It consists of a certain completion of Compendium of Social Doctrine of Church where the dignity of all creatures is emphasized. Theo mariological, sacramentological, eschatological and ethical parts of the text are also inspiring in this respect. Most of what the encyclical presents has been for a long period of time an integral part of the lessons and formation in all the disciplines offered by the Department of Systematic Theology.

Fr. Prof. Ireneusz Mroczkowski was one of the well-known and recognized people of the city of Płock, the diocese of Płock, and the Polish academic world. The aim of the article is to show the ideological path of this priest, moral theologian, lecturer, social activist, and member of the Scientific Society of Płock. The figure of the Professor from Płock is shown in the light of the four dimensions of life emphasized in priestly formation: human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral.

Ks. prof. dr hab. Ireneusz Mroczkowski był jedną ze znanych i rozpoznawanych osób miasta Płocka, diecezji płockiej i polskiego świata akademickiego. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie ideowej drogi tego kapłana, teologa moralisty, wykładowcy, społecznika i członka Towarzystwa Naukowego Płockiego. Postać Profesora z Płocka zostaje ukazana w świetle podkreślanych w formacji kapłańskiej czterech wymiarów życia: ludzkiego, duchowego, intelektualnego i duszpasterskiego.
