Uprawianie turystyki aktywnej, w tym turystyki górskiej, wiąże się z ryzykiem wypadków zarówno z powodów indywidualnych, jak i zaistnienia czynników zewnętrznych. W zależności od pasma górskiego, a także kraju, w którym się znajduje dane pasmo, udzielaniem pomocy zajmują się organizacje działające na różnych zasadach. Celem artykułu jest dokonanie analizy porównawczej działania dwóch organizacji, które zajmują się udzielaniem pomocy turystom w Tatrach: Tatrzańskie Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe w Polsce oraz Horská záchranná služba w Słowacji. Na podstawie analizy dokumentów stanowiących prawne i organizacyjne podstawy działania obu służb wykazano kluczowe różnice oraz podobieństwa w ich funkcjonowaniu.

Active tourism, including mountain tourism, is associated with the risk of accidents both for individual reasons and for external factors. Depending on the mountain range, but also the country in which the range is located, organizations operating on different principles provide assistance. The purpose of this article is to make a comparative analysis of the activities of two organizations that are dedicated to assist tourists in the Tatra Mountains, Tatrzańskie Ochotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe in Poland and Horská záchranná služba on the Slovak side. Based on the analysis of documents constituting the legal basis for the operation of both services, basic differences and similarities in their functioning will be shown.
