Muzeum Nauki i Sztuki jako pierwsze muzeum w Łodzi było ważnym elementem życia naukowego i kulturalnego miasta. Oprócz gromadzenia zbiorów placówka podejmowała liczne działania zmierzające chociażby do uświadomienia społeczeństwa na temat chorób zakaźnych. Placówka, pomimo poważnych problemów finansowych, pracowała w czasie wojny. W jej kolekcji były eksponaty z różnych dziedzin nauki, było tam także wiele pamiątek z Wielkiej Wojny. W okresie międzywojennym z muzeum powstały trzy niezależne instytucje muzealne.

Being the first museum in Lodz, a museum was an important element of scientific and cultural life of the city. In addition to gathering collections, it resulted in numerous activities aimed at consciousness of population on infectious diseases. The facility, despite the significant financial problems worked throughout the war. In its collections there were exhibits from various fields of science and many souvenirs of the Great War. Between the two wars, three independent museum institutions emerged from it.
