The article discusses the issue of the linguistic and cultural school images in a literary text aimed at youth. The author uses Awantury kosmiczne by Edmund Niziurski as an example of such the images. For Niziurski, school is both, a place where social relations and a community of values and bahaviours are built and a place which represents the state of the society. It is reflected in the linguistic level of the novel which introduces some ambivalent semantic connotations connected with the lexeme “school”.
