In the present research the visual modality of the imaginative activity's synchronizational process, the Visual Imaginative Synchrony experienced by interactional partners (shortened form: VIS) has been examined. The VIS is the kind of interactional synchrony phenomenon when the imaginative activity is in harmony between two individuals. The testing of the VIS can be applied in hypnosis and awake settings as well. For the research of the VIS the authoresses received a pattern with medium dispersion by the side of different dimensions, with the help of a standardized method. To explore the possible synchrony between the experienced images a VIS test was developed which applies both drawing and a written description. Throughout the one-one and a half hour long, standardized awake research settings the interactional partners filled in the VIS test in connection with five motives, also the VVIQ, ABS, PCI, DIH, Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test. When the similarity of the dyads' VIS tests were judged the optimum methodology proved to be the group setting, where every pair of VIS tests were judged by three independent participants, on the same location, not knowing one another's answers. The judges decided on the basis of their own preferences, attitudes and personality. The high VIS-dyad scores were re-tested by three new independent judges. The authoresses found a reliably judged synchrony at 22.92% of the dyads (n = 48). The validity probes suggest that in the case of the awake settings there is a correlation between the VIS and the Positive Affect subscale of the PCI and Communion subscale of the DIH. Their results are promising that a new version of interactionally synchronious phenomena is emerging that can be reliably ensured in a waking context.
