Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie sylwetki Janiny Frankowskiej-Bukowskiej (1890-1957), która była okulistą i pionierem okulistyki dziecięcej w Polsce. Doświadczenie zawodowe zdobywała w Instytucie Oftalmicznym oraz Klinice Ocznej w Warszawie. W swoich pracach naukowych skupiała się głównie na okulistyce dziecięcej.

The purpose of this work is to present the biography and the scientific achievements of Janina Frankowska- Bukowska (1890-1957), who was an ophthalmologist and a pioneer of pediatric ophthalmology in Poland. She gained professional experience at the Ophthalmic Institute and the Eye Clinic in Warsaw. In her scientific works, she focused mainly on pediatric ophthalmology.
