The paper is focused on a survey performed by Polish exile magazine 'Kultura' (Culture) published in Paris. The survey included members of three important generations of Polish intellectual exile (born between 1903 and 1955), including representatives of particular exile waves due to political upheavals in 1939, 1947, 1968, and 1981. The paper monitors the opinion of exile thinkers on Poland in Europe and in the world, in parallel with Polish-Russian relations, and also the question how the traditionalist extreme polonocentrism evaporated in exile thinking. The survey was answered by: R. Pilsudski, B. Wierzbianski, J. Nowak, L. Unger, L. Kolakowski, K. Pomian, J. Karpinski, S. Gomulka, A. Smolar, W. Kuczynski, and J. Zielonka.

The article announces 'The Dictionary of Polonisms in Russian 19th- and 20-th Century Texts' currently edited in Russia. General remarks concerning the publication are complemented with broad excerpts from the dictionary, which provide a representative sample of its contents. The article proves a significant presence of Polish vocabulary in the Russian language and especially in texts referring to broadly understood Polish-Russian relations in the 19th and 20th centuries.

This article, a study in dynastic microgenealogy clarifies, on a given example, the motivations and both political and cultural consequences of a certain Polish-Russian marriage. This concerns the union of Bolesław I the Tall (Wysoki, 1127-1201), the eldest son of the Polish lord Władysław II the Exile, and Zwienisława, the eldest daughter of the Duke of Kiev, Wsiewołod Olegowicz. The article corrects certain chronological inconsistencies embedded in literature, concerning the date of the marriage, as well as resulting from it campaign of Russian forces to aid Władysław II, who was fighting the Junior Dukes. According to the author, the marriage of Boleslaw and Zwienisława took place between March 1, 1142 and the atmospheric winter ending that year. The author also investigated the issue of, almost universally incorrectly interpreted by historians, Polish political situation in Russia. The author assures that aside from the episode of 1139 there was no conflict between Olegowiczes, led by Wsiewołod Olegowicz and Monomachowiczes – the descendants of Włodzimierz Wsiewołodowicz Monomach. This could not have been a factor contributing to the reasons for marriage of Bolesław and Zwienisława.

The article contains an analysis of the accounts of the Smolensk catastrophe of April 10, 2010 in Russian media. On account of a specific context of this tragedy (the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre) the article is also an attempt to highlight the role of the collective memory of the Katyn massacre in Polish-Russian relations. The analysis has been done on the major Russian opinion-forming press titles.
