W artykule zaprezentowano ocenę funkcjonowania podmiotów ubezpieczeniowych grupy PZU na tle rynku ubezpieczeń. Przedstawiono rolę podmiotów grupy PZU na rynku ubezpieczeniowym oraz oceniono jej kondycję finansową. W tym celu posłużono się analizą wskaźnikową. Szczególną uwagę w przypadku analizy finansowej skupiono na wskaźnikach rentowności, sprawności działania oraz współzależności. W wyniku przeprowadzonych analiz dowiedziono, że sytuacja finansowa największego polskiego ubezpieczyciela jest korzystna, pomimo zmiennych warunków rynkowych i intensywnej polityki inwestycyjnej badanego podmiotu.

This paper presents an evaluation of the importance of PZU SA in the insurance market and its financial position. It describes changes in the insurance market, paying special attention to the position of the audited entity and the financial situation of the group PZU SA in comparison with the state of the insurance industry in general. For this purpose, an indicator analysis was used, and special attention has been focused on indicators of profitability, performance and interdependence. This analysis has proven that the financial situation of the largest Polish insurer is very favourable relative to the results of the entire industry, despite changing market conditions and an intense investment policy.
