W artykule wskazano na motyw budowania tożsamości narratora jako ważny element tekstów Petera Webera. Dociekanie i trudny proces kształtowania własnego obrazu jako pisarza są charakterystycznymi motywami jego prozy, uwydatnionymi poprzez różnorodność stylistyczną, jak również wielość form narracyjnych. Dokonując analizy tekstów „Der Wettermacher” (1993) i „Die melodielosen Jahre” (2007) zaprezentowano nie tylko obraz kilku regionów Szwajcarii, ale także wielość kultur Europy, szczególnie po wydarzeniach lat dziewięćdziesiątych XX wieku.

The paper focuses on the motif of narrator’s identity construction as an important element of texts by Peter Weber. Inquiring and a difficult process of constructing one’s own image as a writer are characteristic motifs of his prose works, which are accentuated by stylistic variety and multiplicity of narrative forms. Through the analysis of the texts novels “Der Wettermacher” and “Die melodielosen Jahre” there emerges not only a picture of several Swiss regions but also of the variety of cultures in Europe, especially after the events of the 1990s.
