Działalność na rzecz kultury i języka polskiego prowadzona przez słynną polonofilską rodzinę Begeyów to nie jedyny polski akcent w Turynie. To właśnie w stolicy Piemontu działa najprężniejsze polskie stowarzyszenie — Ognisko Polskie w Turynie, którego początki sięgają czasów powojennych. Opisując formowanie się Ogniska Polskiego w Turynie, profesor Krystyna Jaworska wskazuje na nieformalny początkowo charakter tej organizacji. Jednakże na przestrzeni lat turyńska zbiorowość stała się aktywna na wielu płaszczyznach, co potwierdzają dokumenty przechowywane w archiwum stowarzyszenia, ukazujące zarazem zapomniane, a jakże istotne dziedzictwo polskiej wojennej emigracji niepodległościowej we Włoszech.

Activities related to the promotion of Polish language and culture led by the famous Poland’s admirer — Begey family, is not the only Polish accent in Turin. In the capital of Piedmont operates the most dynamic Polish Association — The Polish Hearth in Turin which origins date back to the war times. Describing the formation of the Polish Hearth in Turin, professor Krystyna Jaworska, at the beginning, points to the informal nature of that organization. However, over the years, the community in Turin became active in many areas which is confirmed by the documents kept in the archives of the association. At the same time, these documents are showing a forgotten but very important legacy of Polish war emigration in Italy.

As a part of the strategies identified during the Estates General of livestock farming, the Region of Piedmont has financed a project in order to verify the level of appreciation of medium heavy swine in the swine sector. The Region has involved the Department of Commodity Science of Turin University and APS Piemonte (pig farmers association) in carrying out a specified study [Aceto et al. 2011; Peira et al. 2011]. The results of the study intended to investigate the speck supply chain are set forth below.
