Wojna czechosłowacko-polska, która trwała 8 dni (23-30 stycznia 1919 r.), jest nadal nieznana dla większości społeczeństwa. Kpt. Cezary Haller, młodszy brat gen. Józefa Hallera, pozostaje jedną z nielicznych postaci bardziej znanych, a nawet „związanych” z tą bitwą. Okoliczności jego śmierci, mimo dostępnych dokumentów archiwalnych i omawiających je publikacji, nadal pozostają polem do spekulacji i manipulacji faktami historycznymi. Fałszywy mit powtarzany przez 100 lat o zabiciu tego polskiego oficera przez żołnierzy czechosłowackich jest częścią braku wiedzy o tej wojnie. Artykuł ten jest kolejną próbą przybliżenia czytelnikom najbardziej prawdopodobnego przebiegu bitwy pod Zebrzydowicami i Kończycami Małymi w dniu 26 stycznia 1919 r. Jest to także okazja do ponownego zwrócenia uwagi na fakt, że kpt. Cezary Halller nie został zabity, ale zginął na polu bitwy. Śmierć kpt. Cezarego Halllera stała się także ważnym symbolem walki o polskość Śląska Cieszyńskiego, a popularyzacja historii jego bohaterskiego czynu pozwoli przypomnieć sobie wielu innych, często bezimiennych bohaterów walki o niepodległość Rzeczypospolitej.

The Czechoslovak-Polish War, which lasted 8 days (January 23-30, 1919), is still unknown to the majority of the public. Capt. Cezary Haller, younger brother of General Jozef Haller, remains one of the few figures more widely known or even "associated" with this battle. The circumstances of his death, despite available archival documents and publications discussing them, still remain a field for speculation and manipulation of historical facts. The false myth repeated for 100 years about the killing of this Polish officer by Czechoslovak soldiers is part of the lack of knowledge about this war. This article will be another attempt to deflate this issue and at the same time to familiarize readers with the most probable course of the battle of Zebrzydowice and Kończyce Małe on January 26, 1919. It will also be an opportunity to once again draw attention to the fact that Captain Cezary Halller was not killed or killed but died on the battlefield. The death of Capt. Cezary Halller also became an important symbol of the fight for Polishness of Cieszyn Silesia, and popularization of the history of his heroic deed will allow to recall many other often nameless heroes of the fight for independence of the Republic of Poland.
