The article is chronological study of the history of culture in Poland and is divided into four parts. The first presents the achievements of Polish cultural research until 1918, the next in 1918–1939, third 1945–1989 and the last after 1989. The analysis consisted the discussion on the synthetic works of the history of Polish culture, customs, history, culture, ideas, literature, and arts (among others architecture, painting, sculpture, music). Other publications extended the horizon of knowledge about the former culture analysis of the functioning of the various institutions that have shaped cultural awareness: printing, library (reading), education and schools, church. The reader will also find information about the publications of the material culture history: including the house and its interior, clothing, footwear. Unfortunately they are not too many synthetic studies on the history of Polish culture, and the last was resleased over 25 years ago.
