Celem niniejszej pracy, jest przedstawienie sylwetki i dorobku naukowego Jadwigi Matusewicz (1870- 1953), która była lekarzem okulistą a także wiceprezesem Polskiego Towarzystwa Okulistycznego. Jej prace naukowe dotyczyły głównie chorób oczu i wad wzroku w wieku szkolnym oraz diagnostyki i leczenia gruźlicy.

The purpose of this work is to present the biography and the scientific achievements of Jadwiga Matusewicz (1870-1953), who was an ophthalmologist and vicepresident of the Polish Society of Ophthalmology. Her works research focused mainly on eye diseases and visual impairment at school age and the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis.
