O zawartości Słowniczka wyrazów weterynarskich z 1876 roku

The aim of the article is to describe the first separate dictionary of Polish veterinary terminology, published two times in 1876. The first time as a supplement to Uzupełnienie słownika łacińsko-polskiego wyrazów lekarskich (Supplement to the Latin-Polish Dictionary of Medical Terms) of 1876 and the other time as an offprint of this supplement. The sixteen-page dictionary has 297 foreign-language entries (mainly Latin and German) with Polish equivalents – single terms or in synonymic series. The Polish material comprises a total of 303 terms. These are mainly multi-word names (172). Polish veterinary terms are predominantly native; borrowings or derivatives from them rarely appear among them. The terms collected in Słowniczek refer to various animals (they are most often names of their diseases), however, terms concerning horses predominate. The material in the dictionary is provided with numerous (usually short) annotations. Most of them (over 100) concern Polish terms. Some of these comments are geographical and stylistic qualifiers. The majority of the entries from Słowniczek (283) were repeated in the most important medical dictionary of the 19th century published in 1881.

Celem artykułu jest opis pierwszego samodzielnego słownika polskiej terminologii weterynaryjnej, opublikowanego dwukrotnie w 1876 roku. Raz jako dodatek do Uzupełnienia słownika łacińsko-polskiego wyrazów lekarskich… z 1876, raz jako nadbitka z tego dodatku. Szesnastostronicowy słowniczek liczy 297 haseł obcojęzycznych (głównie łacińskich i niemieckich) z polskimi odpowiednikami – pojedynczymi lub w szeregach synonimicznych. Materiał polski to łącznie 303 terminy. Są to głównie nazwy wielowyrazowe (172). Polskie terminy weterynaryjne są przede wszystkim rodzime, rzadko wśród nich pojawiają się zapożyczenia lub derywaty od nich. Terminy zgromadzone w Słowniczku… odnoszą się do różnych zwierząt (są to najczęściej nazwy ich chorób), przeważają jednak terminy dotyczące koni. Materiał w słowniku został opatrzony licznymi (zwykle krótkimi) komentarzami. Większość z nich (ponad 100) dotyczy polskich terminów. Część z tych uwag to kwalifikatory geograficzne i stylistyczne. Większość haseł ze Słowniczka… (283) została powtórzona w najważniejszym XIX-wiecz­nym słowniku medycz­nym z 1881 r.

The author discusses and compares the views of Polish linguists on the origin and development of the fricative r (ř) in Old Polish and the development of the fricative r (ř) in various regional dialects of the Polish language. It cannot be ruled out that some researchers mistakenly confused the sound ř with rž. Therefore, a proposal is put forward to analyse the existing recordings of Polish and Kashubian dialects by means of more modern computer software. The similarities and differences in the realization of ř in the Czech language and in some Polish and Kashubian dialects should also be investigated.

Autor omawia i porównuje poglądy językoznawców polskich na temat powstania i rozwoju r frykatywnego (ř) w języku staropolskim i rozwoju r frykatywnego (ř) w różnych odmianach języka polskiego. Nie można wykluczyć, że niektórzy badacze mylili brzmienie ř z rž. Dlatego postuluje się przebadanie istniejących nagrań gwar polskich i kaszubskich z wykorzystaniem nowszych programów komputerowych. Należy również ustalić podobieństwa i różnice w realizacji ř w języku czeskim i w niektórych gwarach polskich oraz kaszubskich.
