Artykuł przedstawia postawy grodzieńskich Polaków wobec języka polskiego na początku odrodzenia narodowego na Białorusi, w latach 90. XX wieku. Jako materiał źródłowy do ekscerpcji posłużyły archiwalne numery pierwszej polskojęzycznej gazety grodzieńskich Polaków „Głos znad Niemna”. Przedstawione po raz pierwszy w literaturze przedmiotu dane pozwolą na lepsze zrozumienie dynamiki zmian w zakresie funkcjonowania języka polskiego na przedstawionym obszarze.

The article represents the attitudes of Poles in the Grodno region towards Polish language at the beginning of the national revival in Belarus, in the 1990s of the 20th century. Archival issues of the first Polish newspaper of Poles in the Grodno region “Głos znad Niemna” were the source material for the exploration. The data presented for the first time in the literature of the subject will allow for a better understanding of the dynamics of changes in the functioning of the Polish language in the area depicted.
