Poniższy tekst przedstawia współczesny stan badań nad dziełem Platona Politeia w odniesieniu do teologii duchowości. Użyta w nim została metodologia genezy tematów i udzielono pierwszeństwa bezpośredniemu przekazowi Platona przed wszelkimi interpretacjami, które na przestrzeni wieków chrześcijaństwa dostarczyły różne szkoły duchowości. Podkreślona została duchowa kondycja współczesnego człowieka w obliczu powtarzających się problemów, podobnych do tych z czasów Platona: ontologia duchowa poprzedza sytuację polityczną. Autor tekstu próbuje połączyć podstawową ontologię Platona z opisami politycznymi. Umyślnie unika oceny „anomalii” takich jak np. komunizm kobiet (itp.), aby tego typu tematy nie przysłoniły prawdziwego wkładu, jaki Platon wniósł w historię duchowości.

The text commenting on Plato´s Republic in the context of spiritual theology reflects the current state of critical studies of Plato´s Politeia and situates it to the context of spiritual theology. It makes use of the methodology of topic genesis and prefers pure Plato´s message to the analysis of interpretations of various schools in the history of Christian spirituality. It emphasizes spiritual mood of the contemporary human being in relation to recurring problems that are similar to those in Plato´s times: the spiritual ontology is prior to the political situation. The author of the text tries to connect the basic ontology of Plato to political descriptions. He avoids the evaluation of „anomalies“ intentionally, such as the communism of women, etc., because commenting on such particulars could conceal real Plato´s contribution to the history of spirituality.

In this paper I interpret depiction of the cave in a non-traditional way (ontological, epistemological, political etc.). At the first point I ask about the value of the depiction, myth and the allegory as a means of the convey of philosophical message. At the second point I argue that the depiction of the cave is par excellence the allegory. It contains mythical plot and specific explanation its meaning. At the third point I suggest get attention to the fact, that the allegory of the cave show not only static ontological and epistemological structure but also in dynamic and expressive way present some human’s history. The depiction of the cave represent the sequence of the facts and the consequence of the events as a description of the human’s lot and experiences. At the end I conclude that this dual (allegorical and dynamical) perspective gets one common deduction. Well, the primary sense of the allegory of the cave is to show some specific experience of the soul - its many-sided, radical metamorphose. To show innovation and quaintness this soul’s transformation Plato used a term of periago and periagoge.

W niniejszym artykule interpretuję obraz jaskini w sposób, który wykracza poza tradycyjne paradygmaty jej odczytania (ontologiczny, epistemologiczny, polityczny itd.). W punkcie pierwszym pytam o wartość obrazu, mitu i metafory jako środków komunikowania filozoficznego przekazu. W punkcie drugim przedstawiam argumenty za tym, że obraz jaskini w pełnym tego słowa znaczeniu może być nazywany alegorią. Posiada bowiem mityczną fabułę, która uzupełniona jest konkretnym wyjaśnieniem jej znaczenia. W punkcie trzecim proponuję zwrócić uwagę na to, że alegoria jaskini nie tylko opisuje statyczną strukturę ontyczno-epistemologiczną, ale jest również dynamicznym i ekspresyjnym ukazaniem pewnej ludzkiej historii. Obraz jaskini przedstawia więc sekwencję faktów i następstwo zdarzeń, będących opisem losów i doświadczeń człowieka. W zakończeniu natomiast konkluduję, że ta podwójna (alegoryczno-dynamiczna) perspektywa przynosi jeden wspólny wniosek. Otóż zasadniczym przesłaniem obrazu jaskini jest ukazanie pewnego szczególnego doświadczenia duszy - jej wieloaspektowej, radykalnej metamorfozy. Dla wyrażenia jej oryginalności i nowatorstwa Platon dokonał redefinicji pojęć periago i periagoge.
