W artykule przedstawiono szkic działalności oddziału Polskiego Towarzystwa Stomatologicznego w Zielonej Górze (dalej PTS) od jego powstania w 1953 r. do 2019 r. Na wstępie omówiono kulisy powstania oddziału stomatologicznego w obrębie Polskiego Towarzystwa Lekarskiego (dalej PTL) i utworzenie samodzielnych struktur PTS. Uwzględniono kierunki rozwoju oddziału, kadry zarządzające towarzystwem i sposoby realizacji zadań statutowych. Podkreślono wkład PTS w podnoszenie wiedzy i umiejętności lekarzy stomatologów poprzez realizację kursów zaliczanych do specjalizacji i wykładów zaliczanych jako dopełnienie obowiązku kształcenia ustawicznego.

The article presents a sketch of the activities of the Zielona Góra branch of the Polish Dental Society (hereinafter PTS) from its inception in 1953 to 2019. At the beginning, the background of the creation of the dental department within the Polish Medical Society (hereinafter PTL) and the creation of independent PTS structures was discussed. The directions of the branch development, management staff of the society and methods of implementing statutory tasks were taken into account. The contribution of the PTS to improving the knowledge and skills of dentists through the implementation of courses classified as specializations, and lectures counted as a supplement to the obligation of lifelong learning.
