Granting aid to persons threatened with social exclusion is legally founded on the provisions of criminal code and specific legal acts. Such provisions have existed for some time and enable practitioners to resolve their doubts regarding the procedures and regulations regarding supporting their wards. The specific legal acts were over the last five decades amended on numerous occasions and their current form enables us to notice their evolution towards humanism and pragmatism. The reality of functioning of still incomplete and incoherent system of support demonstrates the need for further changes consisting in developing a network of re-adaptation support and developing cooperation between the responsible entities.

Realizacja zadań pomocowych wobec osób zagrożonych wykluczeniem społecznym znajduje umocowanie prawne w przepisach kodeksu karnego oraz w aktach szczegółowych. Przepisy takie istnieją od dawna i pozwalają praktykom rozstrzygać ich wątpliwości co do procedury i zasad wspierania podopiecznych. Akty szczegółowe były przez ostatnich pięć dekad wielokrotnie nowelizowane, a ich obecny kształt pozwala zauważyć ewolucję w kierunku humanizmu i pragmatyzmu. Realia funkcjonowania niekompletnego i niespójnego wciąż systemu wsparcia wskazują jednak potrzebę dalszych zmian, polegających na budowaniu sieci wsparcia readaptacyjnego i rozwoju współpracy pomiędzy podmiotami za nie odpowiedzialnymi.
