Został napisany z okazji stulecia Wydziału Lekarskiego Uniwersytetu Poznańskiego, uczelni założonej w 1919 r., z której w 1950 r. wyodrębniona została Akademia Medyczna (od 2007 r. Uniwersytet Medyczny) w Poznaniu. Artykuł dostarcza gruntownej wiedzy o rozwoju Kliniki i ortopedach z nią związanych, zwłaszcza o prof. Hieronimie Strzyżewskim (1926-1971)

The article presents the history of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Hand Surgery (initially called the Department of Hand Surgery) of the Poznan University of Medical Sciences. This historical review is written to celebrate the centenary of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Poznan, from which in 1950 the Medical University (since 2007 called Poznan University of Medical Sciences) was separated. The article describes the development of the Department and its clinical staff, especially the first Head, Prof. Hieronim Strzyżewski (1926-1971).
