The survey study brings information about the way that educational research copes with neoliberalism as a generalized form of social government in the current western culture. It shows that neoliberalism is considered as a universal scope of other changes in the basic segments of education and those theoretical and critical analyses of this phenomenon represent an important part of production in the area of educational research. It emphasizes the contribution of formation and development of the so-called governmental studies for comprehension of mechanisms and consequences of neoliberal government of the society and shows how way the methodology of these studies helps to identify neoliberal strategies used in the regulation of social subjects by education. There are five selected segments of critical analyses elaborated (from the concept of a lifelong learning, through preschool and university education to the education of teachers and PISA project) that obviously show ideological and theoretical cohesiveness of the education analysis through the scope of neoliberal governmentality.

Wprowadzenie: Artykuł poświęcony jest zagadnieniom związanym z szeroko rozumianą edukacją plastyczną w przedszkolu. Autorki prezentują w nim wyniki badań pilotażowych, dotyczących wiedzy studentów kierunku Pedagogika Przedszkolna i Wczesnoszkolna na temat plastyki (m.in. znajomości technik plastycznych możliwych do wykorzystania w pracy z dziećmi w wieku przedszkolnym) oraz postrzegania przez nich jej istoty. Cel badań: Celem badań było poznanie opinii przyszłych nauczycieli edukacji przedszkolnej na temat istoty i potrzeby realizowania w przedszkolu edukacji plastycznej oraz ich wiedzy na temat technik plastycznych możliwych do wykorzystania w pracy z dziećmi. Metoda badań: W badaniach wykorzystano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego, technikę ankiety. Uczestniczyło w nich 60 studentów kierunku Pedagogika Przedszkolna i Wczesnoszkolna, II roku studiów uzupełniających magisterskich, stacjonarnych i niestacjonarnych. Były badaniami pilotażowymi, stanowiącymi podstawę do dalszych eksploracji, prowadzonych obecnie przez Autorki. Zostały przeprowadzone w lutym 2020 roku. Wyniki: Zebrany materiał ukazuje niską świadomość studentów i nauczycieli na temat edukacji plastycznej, oraz minimalne wykorzystywanie i marginalizowanie przez nich tego obszaru w praktyce. Wnioski: Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badan pilotażowych nasuwają się pytania: Jaka jest przyczyna niskiej świadomości studentów i nauczycieli na temat szeroko rozumianej edukacji plastycznej i możliwości jej realizowania w przedszkolu? Co można zrobić, aby tę sytuację poprawić? Czy jest to w ogóle możliwe w polskim systemie edukacji?

Introduction: The article focuses on issues related to the (broadly defined) preschool art education. The authors present the results of pilot studies on the level of knowledge of students of preschool and early school education about teaching of art (including knowledge of art techniques which can be used when teaching preschool children) and their perception of what is the essence of such education. Research Aim:The aim of this research was to gather the opinions of future preschool education teachers on the essence of, and need to implement art education in kindergarten and their knowledge of art techniques that can be used in working with children. Method: The research utilised the method of a diagnostic survey, specifically a questionnaire. 60 full-time and part-time students in their second year of supplementary master's degree in pre-school and early school pedagogy completed the questionnaire. These were pilot studies, constituting the basis for further research, currently conducted by the authors. The research was carried out in February 2020. Results:The collected questionnaires point to a low level of art education awareness among both students and teachers, and illustrates minimal utilisation and marginalisation of this area in practice. Conclusions: On the basis of the conducted pilot research, the following questions arise: What is the cause of low awareness among students and teachers about the broadly understood art education and the possibility of its implementation in preschool? What can be done to improve this situation? Is it possible in the Polish education system?
