The liquidation of freedom was the main program of totalitarian power. The Church prevented her from realizing her plans. There is a gradual liquidation of church structures. Government Decree no. 112/1950 Coll. on the theological faculties of July 14, 1950, all Roman Catholic theological studies were concentrated in Slovakia in Bratislava at the Roman Catholic Cyril and Methodius Faculty of Theology. However, the Faculty of Theology was controlled by the state. All other priestly seminaries were abolished (they were no longer religious) at that time) – Roman Catholic in Nitra, Banská Bystrica, Spišská Kapitula, Košice and Greek Catholic in Prešov. Introducers and professors were interned. Only some theologians could finish their studies. Seized seminar property was dismantled, destroyed and destined for new state purposes.

Die Zerstörung der Freiheit war ein grundlegendes Problem der totalitären Macht nach dem 2. Weltkrieg. Für die Verwirklichung der eigenen Pläne des Staates war die Kirche eine Behinderung. Nach und nach kam es zur progressiven Liquidation der kirchlichen Strukturen. Jegliches römisch-katholische-theologische Studium in der Slowakei wurde, durch die Regierungsanordnung Nr. 112/1950 GS über die Theologiefakultäten vom 14. Juli 1950, an der Römisch-Katholischen Theologischen Fakultät der Hl. Kyrill und Method in Bratislava (Pressburg) konzentriert. Die Theologische Fakultät wurde allerdings durch den Staat kontrolliert. Alle anderen Priesterseminare wurden aufgehoben (die Klosterseminare bestanden derzeit nicht mehr) – die römisch-katholischen Seminare in Nitra (Neutra), Banská Bystrica (Neusohl), Spišská Kapitula (Zipser Kapitel) und in Košice (Kaschau), auch das griechischkatholische Seminar in Prešov (Preschau). Die Oberen und die Professoren waren in der Internierung. Nur ein Teil der Theologen konnte das Studium beenden. Die konfiszierten Seminarvermögen wurden zerlegt, vernichtet und für den neuen Staatszweck bestimmt.
