Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie problematyki związanej z wywozem za granicę zabytków i muzealiów niestanowiących zabytków w kontekście ochrony zbiorów muzealnych oraz realizacji ustawowych zadań muzeów. Analizie poddano przepisy ustawy o ochronie zabytków i opiece nad zabytkami oraz ustawy o muzeach, a także aktów wykonawczych do wskazanych ustaw. Ponadto uwzględniono poglądy przedstawicieli nauki prawa ochrony dziedzictwa kultury i wybrane orzecznictwo sądowe. Omówienia obowiązujących przepisów prawnych dokonano z jednoczesnym odwołaniem się do misji muzealnej realizowanej przez muzea. W szczególności wskazano na znaczenie pozwoleń na czasowy wywóz zabytków i muzealiów dla ochrony zbiorów muzealnych.

The purpose of the article is to present the problems associated with the transfer of artefacts and musealia abroad which do not constitute artefacts in the context of the protection of museum collections, and the realisation of statutory tasks of museums. An analysis was conducted upon the regulations of the law on the protection of artefacts and the caring for artefacts and the law on museums, as well as implementing acts to the acts of law which are indicated. Moreover, one took into consideration the opinions of the representatives of the science of the law of the protection of cultural heritage and selected judicial decisions. The presentation of the binding legal regulations was conducted with the simultaneous reference to the museum mission realised by the museums. In particular, one indicated the significance of the permissions for the temporary transfer of artefacts and musealia for the protection of museum collections.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę zawartości treści trzech periodyków wydawanych przez Instytut Bibliotekoznawstwa i Informacji Naukowej Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach: „Studia Bibliologiczne”, „Bibliotheca Nostra” i „Nowa Biblio- teka”, w zakresie ochrony i konserwacji zbiorów bibliotecznych przed zniszczeniem. Zgromadzony materiał dowodzi, że zagadnienie ochrony zbiorów stanowi aktualny i ważny temat badawczy. Wyniki analizy pozwoliły stwierdzić, iż autorzy publikujący na łamach wymienionych wydawnictw najwięcej miejsca poświęcili zagrożeniom fizykochemicznym i mechanicznym, a także metodom renowacji zagrożonych egzemplarzy. Wskazywali przyczyny obniżenia trwałości papieru, przykłady dobrych praktyk, działania profilaktyczne ukierunkowane na ochronę zasobów przed całkowitą destrukcją.

The article presents an analysis of the content of three periodicals pub lished by the Institute of Library Science of the University of Silesia in Katowice: “Studia Bibliologiczne”, “Bibliotheca Nostra” and “Nowa Biblioteka”, in reference to the subject -matter devoted to the protection and the conservation of library collections against damage. The amount of the material which was collected indicates that the problem of the protection of collections constitutes a topical and an important research subject. The results of the analysis enabled one to state that the authors who published their work in the periodicals which are analysed focused on the physico -chemical and physical threats, as well as on the methods of the renovation of the threatened specimens. They indicated the reasons of the deterioration of the durability of the paper, the examples of good practices, as well as preventive actions whose purpose is to save the collections from utter destruction.
