The aims of this study are to present the history of fruit-growing traditions, methods of storage of orchard fruits, and notes on old varieties of apple trees. Those found in old orchards in the village of Pacław, near Kalwaria Pacławska (Przemyśl Foothills) are given as an example. As a result of research into pomological descriptions, the following varieties were recognised, apple: Bukówka, Grabsztajny, Przemyskie, Szandarczyna, Szczetyna, Kogut, and Reneta, which has failed to produce fruit in 2011; and pear: Baba, Gdulka and Szara Bera. In addition, the article describes the method of storage and preservation of fruits. Two fruit drying sites have been found in this orchard. After talking with the inhabitants the measurements of these sites were taken and sketches made in order to reconstruct such fruit dryers from the early twentieth century. Only two such sites have been found in the  Przemysl  Foothills so far.
