Przechodzenie absolwentów poszczególnych szczebli kształcenia na rynek pracy przebiega w różnym tempie i charakteryzuje się szerokim wachlarzem strategii przyjmowanych przez młodych ludzi w trakcie tych działań. Studia literatury dowodzą, że największe zróżnicowanie tranzycji prezentują osoby kończące edukację wyższą. Dzieje się tak przede wszystkim dlatego, że z jednej strony w większości krajów rozwiniętych narastały trudności tej populacji w pozyskaniu satysfakcjonującego ją zatrudnienia, a z drugiej zasób wiedzy o świecie i poszerzone horyzonty pozwalają jej na kreowanie nowych alternatyw dla klasycznego, linearnego wejścia w dorosłość. W zaistniałych warunkach granica między etapem edukacji wyższej a etapem zatrudnienia wykazuje tendencje do rozmywania się, a proces tranzycji ulega tzw. prolongowaniu. Celem artykułu jest analiza przyczyn opóźniania tranzycji absolwentów uczelni wyższych wraz z typologią oraz refleksjami dotyczącymi konsekwencji tego zjawiska.

Graduates of several education levels enter the labour market at a different pace and use a broad variety of strategies. Results of literature studies show that labour market transition is the most diverse among higher education graduates. This is mostly because, on the one hand, in most developed countries it has been increasingly difficult for people representing that population to find a satisfying job and, on the other hand, their knowledge resources and broad horizons allow them to develop new creative solutions, alternative to the traditional linear transition into adulthood. In the current circumstances, the borderline between education and employment is becoming blurred, and the transition process is becoming prolonged. This article presents an analysis of the causes of delayed entry of higher education graduates into the labour market, a typology of this phenomenon, and some reflections on its consequences.
