The article introduces new results of the genealogy research into Marina Cvetaeva’s family, particularly of its Polish line that can be traced back to the poet’s grandmother Maria Bernacka (Mayn). The approximate life periods of the poet’s Polish ancestors such as: grand grandmother Marianna Leduchovska and grand grandfather Luka Bernatsky, as well as grand grand grandfather Stanislav Leduchovsky and grand grand grandmother Elzhbeta Hoffman till the dynasty’s legendary founder Nestor Halka Leduchovsky count Shalava (Salava) (who was lived in the middle of the 15th century) have been set. The second part of the article draws the readers’ attention to some great Polish characters who provided the inspiration for Cvetaeva’s poems, e.g. the pretender for the Russian throne called Dymitri the Impostor, Marina Mnishek, Isabella Chartorysky and the poet’s grandmother. Besides her poetic inspirations this part of the article is also focused on the process of creating and rethinking the conception of characters, that took place in her poetic mind after sometime. The analysis of the poetical pieces is supplemented with commentary and some remarks, taken from the poet’s memories and essays as well as some other sources.

Нынешний 2014 год − юбилейный для великого русского поэта Михаила Юрьевича Лермонтова, второй величины русской поэзии после Пушкина. Судьба отпустила поэту 26 лет жизни, и за этот короткий срок он сумел составить обширное поэтическое наследие, которое люди хранят и помнят вот уже два столетия. Лермонтов рассматривается в статье как поэт высокой поэтической мысли – вершины его творчества посвящены разгадке сокровенных смыслов бытия. Поиски истины открыли ему путь к гармонии, выраженной в его лучших стихах, замечательными проявлениями которой стали стихотворения-молитвы, живущие не только в стихотворной, но и в песенной форме. В то же время диссонанс жизни и творчества рождал у него тревогу, проявлявшуюся порой в предвидении собственной кончины. Лермонтова постоянно влекла к себе историко-героическая тема. Последние годы жизни ознаменовались созданием поэмы из истории России, в которой он решает проблему духовного здоровья народа и истоков силы его духа.

W bieżącym 2014 roku przypada 200-setna rocznica Michała Lermontowa, następnej po Aleksandrze Puszkinie wyżyny poezji rosyjskiej. Poeta nie zmarnował 26 lat życia darowanych mu przez los, przez ten krótki czas bowiem potrafił nagromadzić obszerny spadek poetycki, który ludzie przechowują w pamięci na przeciągu już prawie dwóch stuleci. Lermontow jest rozpatrywany w artykule jako poeta, który osiągnął szczyty myśli poetyckiej poświęcone poszukiwaniom ukrytego sensu ludzkiego życia. Owe drogi ku prawdzie otwarli dla niego wizję harmonii, którą zawierają jego najlepsze utwory, w tym wiersze-modlitwy, istniejące również w postaci muzycznej. Jednocześnie rozdźwięk życia i twórczości stawał się źródłem niepokoju, który się wyrażał sporadycznie jako wizja rychłej śmierci. Poeta ciągle powracał również do wątku historycznego − w ostatnich latach jego życia powstał poemat historyczny, w którym rozstrzyga problem źródeł zdrowej egzystencji narodu i mocy jego ducha.

2014 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the second greatest Russian poet (after Pushkin) Mikhail Lermontov. Although Lermontov died at the age of 26, he nevertheless left people a great deal of his wonderful poems. People have remembered and kept these poems for two hundred years. The author of this article describes Lermontov as a poet with high poetic way of thinking. His best poems are devoted to the exploring the meaning of life. Searching for truth showed him the way to the harmony depicted in his best poems. We can find a reflection of this harmony in his poems prayers. They exist not only as poems but also as songs. At the same time, the dissonance between the life and work aroused his anxiety. This anxiety can be found in foreseeing his own death. Lermontov was always interested in the history and heroic life of the Russians. During his last years, he created a historic poem based on Russian history. Here, he described the spiritual health of Russian people and showed the sources of the Russian spirit.
