During World War II, representatives of the nations living in the Soviet Union were the most numerous among foreign volunteers who were part of military units fighting on the side of Germany. They were encouraged to fight on the side of the Third Reich by their aversion to the Bolshevik rule in Russia and opportunism. The article is a review, the author talks about the genesis of these units and presents an overview of the most important of them.

W czasie II wojny światowej przedstawiciele narodów zamieszkujących Związek Sowiecki byli najliczniejszymi spośród zagranicznych ochotników wchodzących w skład jednostek wojskowych walczących po stronie Niemiec. Do walki po stronie III Rzeszy skłaniała ich niechęć do władzy bolszewików w Rosji oraz koniunkturalizm. Artykuł ma charakter przeglądowy, autor opowiada o genezie tych oddziałów oraz prezentuje przegląd najważniejszych z nich.
