Artykuł omawia niektóre z form pracy z uczniem ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi (SPE) na lekcjach językowych (i nie tyko), wskazując na szereg istotnych aspektów, na które uważny nauczyciel języka obcego powinien zwrócić szczególną uwagę. Oprócz przedstawienia szeregu obowiązujących obecnie aktów prawnych, scalających i warunkujących tego typu formy działalności edukacyjnej, w artykule zaprezentowano sposoby pracy z tego typu uczniami (głównie zaś z uczniami dyslektycznymi) możliwe do wykorzystania w trakcie działalności językowej w klasie. W końcowej części artykułu omówiono sposoby pracy i organizacji lekcji językowej w klasie, w której oprócz uczniów dyslektycznych znajdują się także uczniowie niewykazujący tego typu zaburzeń.

The paper discusses some of the selected forms of work with learners with special educational needs (SEN) to be delivered during (not only) foreign language classes. Apart from presenting currently mandatory legal acts that concern different forms of work with SEN learners the paper discusses selected effective pedagogical approaches possible for application during (not only) foreign language lessons. In the final part of the paper we make an attempt to analyze these forms of effective foreign language deliverance to (mostly dyslexic) learners that can be applied to pedagogically divergent learners that are commonly found in many classrooms.

Teaching English to deaf and hard of hearing learners often occurs as demanding and challenging task for the teachers. It is known that deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) learners differ from hearing pupils and need introducing various specific teaching strategies, methods and techniques in order to facilitate both learning and teaching and make such processes more effective. Moreover, the teachers must be prepared to teach such students and be aware of their strengths and weaknesses. That is why the paper focuses on the mainstream English teachers’ awareness of the DHH learners’ specific educational needs and discover the specific teaching methods when teaching English to deaf and hard of hearing students.
