The article is preceded with 'Introductory remarks' in which the author - for comparison - presents briefly the situation of Socinianism (in 17th and 18th century) in Holland, England and France. The main part of the article, devoted to the discussion of the German scene, describes the subject in seven points, namely: 1. 17th century - orthodoxy of Protestant Germany in their fight with the specter of Socinianism; 2. Leibniz's stance; 3. Situation in 18th century: orthodoxy and Neologists; 4. Lessing's stance; 5. Socinianism as seen by Kant's sympathizers; 6. Otto Fock and the first modern and scientific monograph about Socinianism (1847); 7. Wilhelm Dilthey about the role of Socinianism in the history of European mentality.
