The paper is a part of the stream of research in which particular attention is being paid to the very process of creation of mediaeval text and reveals the strata that arose through the influence of such elements as the role of copyists, work by ear or from the source, the memory factor, and the bilingualism of the writers. The author’s interest is in the relation between two languages, Polish and Latin. He analyzes those places where identical Latin fragments correspond to different portions on the Polish side. This variation can be seen at each level of language, from the phonetic-graphical, through the inflexional and word-formative, up to the syntactic and lexical. One needs to bear in mind the possibility of various Latin redactions, and the fact that certain features of the translation mirror not the Latin source but a Czech, German, or an older and not preserved Polish version. Then, referring to Latin is purely a convention.

The Saint Florian Psalter (Warsaw, BN 8002 III) is the oldest existing Polish psalter, of unknown provenance until the 1550s. An erased owner’s note from the fifteenth century (f. Iv) has been largely omitted in research. The article presents this note as well as an identical one in another codex (Vienna, ÖNB, Cod. 1352). What follows is an identification of the owner, Hans Siebenlinder (d. 1438/1440), an eminent patrician of Buda. A short resume traces his activities in Hungary, and is followed by an overview of his contacts with the Kingdom of Poland. The last part of the article presents the importance of this identification for future research into the history of the Psalter but also into the phases of its creation.

Proweniencja Psałterza floriańskiego (Warszawa, BN, 8002 III) aż po połowę XVI w. pozostaje nieznana. Informuje o niej jednak wytarta zapiska własnościowa z XV w. na k. Iv, rzadko wspominana w badaniach. W artykule przedstawiam odczyt i interpretację tej notki. Wskazuję też na jeszcze jeden kodeks (Wiedeń, ÖNB, Cod. 1352) posiadający identyczną zapiskę. Wedle przedstawionej identyfikacji, właścicielem obu ksiąg był patrycjusz budziński Jan z Lipan (zm. 1438/1440). Przedstawiam krótki życiorys tej postaci oraz stosunki wiążące go z Królestwem Polskim. Ostatnia część pracy dotyczy znaczenia tej identyfikacji dla dalszych badań nie tylko nad wtórną historią Psałterza, ale też nad etapami jego powstawania.
