With the end of the German occupation and the entry of the Red Army into Poland, a new period regarding the functioning of the Polish independence underground began. The best example of which concerns the final months of the Home Army’s (Armia Krajowa, AK) activity, the process of its liquidation after January 1945, and the attempts to create completely new structures aimed at fighting the communists. One of the elements characteristic of this period was the creation of the so-called AK Self-Defence Units, such as the group codenamed „Szerszeń” that operated in Podhale from spring to summer 1945, commanded by second lieutenant/lieutenant Feliks Perekładowski „Przyjaciel” of the Silent Unseen. The group’s actions were a significant manifestation of the resistance to the „new government” in southern Małopolska, and also provided the catalyst for further underground activities by individuals associated with the resistance movement. For others, it turned out to be the last stage of the fight before they decided to leave the country and head to the west.

Mit dem Ende der deutschen Besatzung und dem Einmarsch der Roten Armee in Polen begann eine neue Periode des polnischen Unabhängigkeitsuntergrunds, die am besten durch die abnehmenden Monate der Tätigkeit der Heimatarmee (Armia Krajowa, AK), den Prozess ihrer Auflösung nach Januar 1945 und die Versuche zur Schaffung völlig neuer, Strukturen zur Bekämpfung der Kommunisten veranschaulicht wird. Eines der charakteristischen Elemente dieser Periode war die Bildung der so genannten Heimatarmee-Selbstverteidigungseinheiten, wie z. B. die vom Frühjahr bis zum Sommer 1945 in der Region Podhale operierende Gruppe mit dem Codenamen „Szerszeń”, die von Cichociemny Unterleutnant/Leutnant Feliks Perekładowski „Przyjaciel” befehligt wurde. Sie war ein bedeutender Ausdruck des Widerstands gegen die „neuen Machthaber” im südlichen Kleinpolen und bildete für viele der Beteiligten den Ausgangspunkt für weitere Untergrundtätigkeiten. Für andere wiederum war es die letzte Etappe des Kampfes vor der Entscheidung, das Land zu verlassen und in den Westen zu gehen.

Wraz z końcem okupacji niemieckiej i chwilą wkroczenia na tereny Polski Armii Czerwonej rozpoczął się nowy okres funkcjonowania polskiego podziemia niepodległościowego, czego najlepszym przykładem są schyłkowe miesiące działalności Armii Krajowej (AK), proces jej likwidacji po styczniu 1945 r. oraz próby tworzenia zupełnie nowych, poakowskich struktur nastawionych na walkę z komunistami. Jednym z charakterystycznych dla tego okresu elementów było powstawanie tzw. oddziałów samoobrony AK, takich jak działająca na Podhalu od wiosny do lata 1945 r. grupa o kryptonimie „Szerszeń” dowodzona przez ppor./por. cichociemnego Feliksa Perekładowskiego ps. „Przyjaciel”. Stanowiła ona znaczący na terenie południowej Małopolski przejaw oporu wobec „nowej władzy”, była też punktem wyjścia do dalszej działalności podziemnej dla wielu związanych z nią ludzi. Dla innych z kolei okazała się ostatnim etapem walki przed decyzją o opuszczeniu kraju i przedostaniu się na Zachód.
