We are presenting few comments to the social work and position of social worker in the current society. Some changes are related to varying character of society influenced by globalisation and postmodern present. We apply to the position of social worker in the field of social protection, to some of their work conditions and job satisfaction indicator. Our work shows the relations between hygiene and motivational factors and job satisfaction of social workers regarding to the some abroad findings, similar studies in Slovakia have not been realized yet.

The aim of this article is to present the results of the research on the image of social assistance services clients perceived by students and social workers. A realistic, free of bias image of a supported person seems to be an essential condition that must be met by anyone who wants to help other people. Clients of social assistance services usually come from communities exposed in a particular way to discrimination and negative schematization of their image. The research focused on four groups of so called ‘difficult clients’, i.e. alcoholics, drug addicts, homeless and mentally ill people. The respondents (social workers and students) could choose five adjectives describing the profile of each category of clients. A common feature of personal profiles of clients of social assistance services appears to be the dominance of highly stigmatizing pejorative qualities and small variation of the image in the group of social workers and students. The image of an alcoholic or a drug addict seems to be the most negative while the most neutral one is the image of a homeless person.

Celem artykułu jest prezentacja wyników badań dotyczących obrazu klienta pomocy społecznej w percepcji pracowników socjalnych i studentów. Realistyczny, pozbawiony uprzedzeń obraz osoby wspomaganej można uznać za podstawowy warunek, jaki musi spełnić każdy kto pragnie pomagać innym ludziom. Klienci pomocy społecznej rekrutują się ze środowisk w szczególny sposób narażonych na dyskryminację i negatywną schematyzację ich wizerunku. Przedmiotem poznania uczyniono cztery grupy tzw. "trudnych klientów" tj. alkoholików, narkomanów, bezdomnych oraz osoby chore psychicznie. Badani pracownicy socjalni i studenci z obszernej listy przymiotników mogli wybrać pięć najlepiej opisujących sylwetkę wymienionych kategorii klientów. Wspólną cechą uzyskanych tą drogą profili osobowych klienta pomocy społecznej jest dominacja cech pejoratywnych, silnie stygmatyzujących oraz małe zróżnicowanie wizerunku w grupie pracowników socjalnych i studentów. Przy czym najbardziej niekorzystnie rysuje się obraz osoby uzależnionej od alkoholu lub narkotyków, a najbardziej neutralnie przedstawia się obraz bezdomnego

Badanie koncentruje się na stosowaniu zarządzania czasem przez studentów w dziedzinie pracy socjalnej. Każdy korzysta z zarządzania czasem, efektywnego wykorzystania czasu. Samodzielne zarządzanie – życiem osobistym i zawodowym – należy do wielkich wyzwań, którym powinniśmy sprostać, gdy chcemy odnieść sukces. Wysokie wymagania stawiane w każdym zawodzie, również w przypadku pracownika socjalnego, prowadzą do dużego obciążenia. Długi czas trwania tego stanu może doprowadzić do całkowitego wyczerpania lub tak zwanego wypalenia. Aby temu zapobiec, przyszły pracownik socjalny powinien posiadać w swoich kompetencjach również te, które mają zastosowanie w pracy menedżera.

The study focuses on applying of time-management at students of the field social work. Every person uses time management – control of the effective use of time. Self-management, management of personal and work life belongs to big challenges, we should manage, when we want to be successful. In context of high requirements on helping profession, on social worker too, we meet high load which is put on them. A long duration of this condition may lead to complete exhaustion or so-called burnout. To prevent this situation, we need that future social worker has in its competences feature the competence which can be fully applied in manager role. We use time-management in all fields of social work. It has its use not only in direct, indirect or excessed work with client but it its place during preparation of future social workers direct in education process.
