Wraz z postępującą humanizacją i demokratyzacją życia społecznego w naszym kraju w latach 80. ubiegłego wieku pojawiła się w polskiej pedagogice problematyka podmiotowości. Wydaje się, że nikt dziś nie ma wątpliwości, iż rozwijanie podmiotowej orientacji u uczniów jest bezpośrednim determinantem ich pełnego rozwoju. W dobie dyskusji o systemie oświaty ważne staje się pytanie: Czy podmiotowość ucznia jest właściwie rozumiana i doceniana przez decydentów oświaty oraz teoretyków i praktyków kształcenia i wychowania? W artykule ukazano istotę podmiotowości ucznia oraz wskazano na rolę nauczyciela w jej rozwijaniu. W szczególności zwrócono uwagę na możliwość umacniania orientacji podmiotowej uczniów poprzez rozwijanie ich postawy asertywnej oraz wykorzystanie w pracy pedagogicznej założeń i metod Edukacji Skoncentrowanej na Rozwiązaniach.

The 1980s saw the social life in our country become more humanized and democratized, leading to the emergence of the issue of subjectivity in the Polish pedagogy. Today, no one seems to doubt that developing a subjective orientation in students directly determines their full growth. The ongoing discussion regarding the education system raises a relevant question, and namely whether student subjectivity is properly understood and acknowledged by policy-makers as well as theorists and practice experts in the field of education. This article indicates the importance of student subjectivity and the role of the teacher in its development. In particular, it demonstrates that teachers can reinforce students’ subjective orientation by fostering their assertiveness and by implementing the assumptions and methods of the Solution-Focused Education approach.
