Testament własnoręczny, zwany też testamentem holograficznym, to najprostsza forma testamentu przewidziana przez prawo. Spadkodawca może sporządzić taki testament w ten sposób, że napisze go w całości pismem ręcznym, podpisze i opatrzy datą. Jednak te proste ustawowe wymagania dotyczące sporządzania testamentów własnoręcznych w praktyce rodzą wiele wątpliwości i problemów interpretacyjnych.

An oligraphic testament, also called holographic will, is the simplest form of law testaments. Such testament can be hand-written by a devisor, signed by him and it should contain a date of its making. However, in practice these basic legal requirements of making oligraphic testaments raise many doubts and interpretative problems.
