Ordtrolleri, lycka och bus – en undersökning om vad Lennart Hellsing har betytt för svenskarna

The aim of this text is to ascertain to what degree Swedes are familiar with Lennart Hellsing and his texts and to give a picture of what influence Hellsing has had in Swedish people’s lives. In order to answer these questions a survey, in which 31 Swedish persons participated, was conducted. The results show that although a slight majority knows who Lennart Hellsing was, many do not. Even so, all respondents recognized at least one of Hellsing’s texts. This shows how well-known these texts are in Sweden and suggests that they are part of the Swedish cultural heritage.

This article provides an insight into the contemporary level of gender equality that characterizes Swedish news programs. The study is based on available data and reports regarding women’s status in the newsroom, as well as their opportunities and access to the process of making news. The study analyses Swedish public service channels’ policy concerning women’s and men’s equal rights in the newsroom and the reflection of this in practice. The main aim of the article is to explore whether Swedish news is really as gender neutral as expected and what needs to be improved to achieve actual gender balance.

The goal of the article “Svenskhet som gräns, Swedishness as a border” is to present problems with the concept of Swedishness from another perspective than it has been discussed in the Swedish media. The article analyses responses from Swedish political parties with regard to “Swedishness” and democracy, and it provides an insight to the contemporary situation in Sweden.
