Tematem artykułu są kwestie związane z budową i przebiegiem autostrady przez powiat tarnowski. Konieczność realizacji autostrady jest wynikiem ogromnego wzrostu ilości pojazdów osobowych i ciężarowych przemieszczających się przez obszar powiatu tarnowskiego przede wszystkim z zachodu na wschód. Potrzeba jej powstania jest dla mieszkańców powiatu oczywista. Jednak oprócz korzyści wynikających z inwestycji należy także uwzględnić towarzyszące jej skutki negatywne. Tak więc decyzja o budowie autostrady musi być poprzedzona wnikliwą, dokładną, lokalną analizą, aby z jednej strony negatywne konsekwencje ekologiczne, a także społeczne były jak najmniejsze, a z drugiej, by przedsięwzięcie przyniosło mieszkańcom wymierne korzyści.

The subject of this article is the issue connected with the construction and the route of the motorway across the Tarnów district. An enormous and still growing number of vehicles, cars, trucks and vans makes it necessary to build the motorway leading from West to East, across the Tarnów district. The need to provide the inhabitants of Tarnów region with the route is understood and obvious for them. However, despite the advantages some negative effects may occur, which must be taken into deep consideration. That is why the decision of building the motorway must be preceded with extremely precise, local analysis to limit the negative consequences both social and ecological. On the other hand, building the motorway should bring the dwellers measurable benefits.
