Przejście na emeryturę najczęściej jest utożsamiane z zakończeniem okresu aktywności zawodowej i początkiem okresu starości. Jest ono przejściem z życia zawodowego w stan spoczynku. Emerytura może stać się początkiem nowej sytuacji psychicznej, społecznej, rodzinnej, ekonomicznej. Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na pewne aspekty procesu przechodzenia na emeryturę. Szczególnie istotny staje się sam moment przejścia i okoliczności jakie mu towarzyszą. Autorka prezentuje wybrane wyniki badań diagnostycznych obrazujące złożoność sytuacji przejścia na emeryturę. Na ich podstawie zostały wyróżnione trzy wzory doświadczania przejścia na emeryturę, tego jak może zostać ono przeżyte i w jaki sposób wpłynąć na życie emeryta.

The process of retiring is usually understood as the end of working life and the beginning of a period of old age. It is a kind of transition from working life to retirement. Retirement can be the beginning of a new psychological, social, family or economic situation. The aim of this article is to highlight the importance of certain aspects of retiring where the most important is the moment of retiring as such and the circumstances which accompany it. The author of the article presents the chosen results of the diagnostic research which show the complexity of becoming a pensioner. On its ground three types of retiring experience models have been made. The models show psychological aspects of the process of retiring and how these aspects can affect pensioners’ lives.
