Podstawowe problemy ekologiczne w miastach związane z przewagą stosowania ropy jako paliwa wykorzystywanego w transporcie powodują wzrost emisji CO2, zanieczyszczenie powietrza i hałas. Transport jest jednym z najtrudniejszych sektorów w zakresie kontroli emisji CO2. Pomimo postępów technologicznych w dziedzinie motoryzacji wzrost natężenia ruchu i występujące na obszarach miejskich trendy w motoryzacji indywidualnej oraz styl jazdy stanowią coraz większe źródło emisji CO2 powodujące zmiany klimatu. Dzięki zintegrowanym planom mobilności miasta mogą w zdecydowany sposób przyczynić się do dekarbonizacji gospodarki. Wykorzystując rozwiązania technologiczne, organizacyjne i behawioralne, transport miejski może rozwijać się zgodnie z zasadami zrównoważonego rozwoju.

Basic environmental problems in the cities, related to the predominance of oil as a transport fuel, cause an increase in CO2 emission, air pollution and noise. Transport is one of the most difficult sectors to control CO2 emission. Despite the technological advances in the automotive field, the increase in traffic and urban areas’ trends presenting automotive industry and driving style, are an increasing sources of CO2 emission that causes climate change. Thanks to the integrated mobility plans, cities can contribute decisively to the decarbonisation of the economy. Using technological, organizational and behavioral solutions, urban transport can develop in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.

Wzrost liczby ludności miejskiej implikuje wzrost popytu na transport, a to rodzi określone problemy: kongestię, wzrost zanieczyszczenia powietrza czy hałas. Jednocześnie obserwuje się znaczny wzrost handlu elektronicznego, który w 2021 roku ma osiągnąć wartość 4,9 bln USD, co tylko zwiększy popyt na transport. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja i charakterystyka wybranych rozwiązań transportowych możliwych do zastosowania w obsłudze handlu elektronicznego w miastach i równocześnie o największym potencjale redukcji emisji gazów cieplarnianych i innych polutantów.

The increase in the urban population implies a significant growth in demand for transport, and this raises specific problems: traffic congestion, increased of air pollution and noise. At the same time, there is a remarkable increase in volume and value of e-commerce, which in 2021 is expected to reach USD 4.9 trillion, which will only strengthens the demand for transport and its negative effects. The aim of this paper is to identify and characterize selected transport solutions that can be implemented in e-commerce in cities and simultaneously have the greatest potential to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and other pollutants.
