The article deals with the holding of prisoners-of-war from the Ukrainian Halych Army and Ukrainian civilian internees in the POW camp of Wadowice in years 1918-1920. It was then the main group of people staying at this location. The article deals with the following issues: when the Ukrainian captivity started, the number of POWs and internees in the camp, the Polish command, relations between guards and inmates, material conditions, nourishment, sanitary conditions, mortality, and relief for prisoners from Eastern Galicia.

WW artykule omówione zostały działania ukraińskich organizacji społecznych z Galicji Wschodniej dotyczące niesienia pomocy jeńcom i internowanym ukraińskim z tego regionu, przebywającym w polskich obozach jenieckich w latach 1918–1921. W omawianym okresie osoby przebywające w niewoli znajdowały się w trudnej sytuacji żywieniowo-materialnej, której nie mogły sprostać polskie władze wojskowe. Działania Ukraińskiego Komitetu Obywatelskiego we Lwowie oraz Samarytańskiej Pomocy w Przemyślu stanowiły duże – i często jedyne – wsparcie, które pomagało Ukraińcom przetrwać okres niewoli. Obie organizacje udzielały przede wszystkim pomocy w postaci żywności oraz ubrań; w 1920 r. doszło do tego wypłacanie zapomóg finansowych oraz załatwienie biletów kolejowych dla wracających do domów. Należy szczególnie podkreślić działania kobiet z Przemyśla, świadczących pomoc w obozie w Pikulicach w najcięższym okresie epidemii tyfusu i czerwonki zimą 1919 r.

The article presents four documents connected with the POW camp no. 4 in Pikulice between July 1919 and February 1920. Two of them are reports of the stay there (one is anonymous, one by Lieutenant Jarosław Diakon), written soon after the described events; the others are: a petition to the Command of the General District of Lviv and an application of four prisoners to the Ukrainian Civic Committee. The documents faithfully render the conditions in the camp and additionally inform what the epidemics of typhus and dysentery looked like, the diseases that took the life of many UGA prisoners. The texts provide a considerable research value, although they are not devoid of bias.
