The article presents results of analyses of the historical, medieval fabric of the city of Uniejów. It first outlines the morphogenetic aspect of the medieval chartered city, and against this background presents, from the historical perspective, the transformations of the material relics of that period – the castle and the collegiate church of the archbishops of Gniezno. The article also discusses current trends in the revitalisation of objects of high architectural value. It then explains the conditions and principles of preparing Local Revitalisation Programs since Poland’s accession to the EU, and provides a detailed presentation and interpretation of the objectives of the Local Revitalisation Program 2011–2015 for the city of Uniejów.
