Although the reviewed book belongs to the guidebook type it does not mean that it lacks scholarly ambitions. Its first chapters are dedicated to British cezsuses. The author provide the reader with their thorough descriptions, without omitting the details which allow for their differentiation, starting from the first censuses from the half of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century, and ending witz the censuses from the beginning of the 20th century. After the first chapters on its objective is to familiarize the potential researcher witz the difficulties arising while using the censuses in question. Than, the main cause of the adventage of the inhabitants of the British Isles interested in genealogy over Polish genealogists is presented. In the last chapters the authors discuss the maine techniques of using genealogical data Internet browsers and provide examples of websites offering acces to databases containing British censuses
