Zachowała się częściowo dokumentacja sporządzona przez niemieckie władze okupacyjne Lwowa dotycząca zbiorów biblioteki Wiktora Baworowskiego we Lwowie. Z niedatowanego raportu wynika, że budynki biblioteki znalazły się od razu pod specjalnym nadzorem armii niemieckiej. Największe spustoszenia powstały w czasie okupacji sowieckiej w procesie scalania biblioteki z Ossolineum na początku 1940. Niemiecki autor raportu postuluje przywrócenie biblioteki do stanu sprzed tego okresu.

Part of the documentation prepared by the German occupation authorities of Lviv concerning the collection of Viktor Bavorovsky’s library in Lviv has been preserved. The undated report shows that the library buildings were immediately under special supervision of the German army. The greatest devastation occurred during the Soviet occupation in the process of merging the library with the Ossolineum at the beginning of 1940. The German author of the report calls urgently for the library to be restored to its original state.
