The article refers to the Polish adaptation of David Wechsler intelligence scales for children and adults. The practice of using adapted and aging testsis not free from problems. Two of them will be discussed. One of them is the phenomenon of increasing results in intelligence tests over the years, called the Flynn effect. The second concerns the comparability of test results for children and adults. Implications for clinical practice are discussed.

Artykuł odnosi się do polskich adaptacji skal inteligencji Davida Wechslera dla dzieci i dorosłych. Praktyka posługiwania się adaptowanymi i starzejącymi się testami nie jest wolna od problemów. Dwa z nich zostaną omówione. Jednym z nich jest zjawisko przyrastania wyników w testach inteligencji wraz z upływem lat, nazywane efektem Flynna. Drugi dotyczy porównywalności wyników testów dla dzieci i dorosłych. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono wynikającym z tego porównania i konsekwencjom dla praktyki psychologicznej.
