Przedmiotem badań jest wpływ sankcji gospodarczych na innowacyjność i wartość przedsiębiorstw oraz gospodarki Islamskiej Republiki Iranu. Na skutek rozwoju programu jądrowego bez współpracy z instytucjami i społecznością międzynarodową Iran został objęty szeregiem sankcji ekonomicznych. Liczący ponad 81 mln mieszkańców rynek został odizolowany od zagranicznych dóbr konsumpcyjnych i inwestycyjnych. Dotyczyło to również irańskich przedsiębiorstw i ośrodków naukowych, które na skutek sankcji nie miały możliwości współpracy z partnerami zagranicznymi. Badając zagadnienie wpływu sankcji na innowacyjność irańskich przedsiębiorstw i gospodarki, można stwierdzić zarówno pozytywne, jak i negatywne jego skutki. W 2016 r. większość istotnych sankcji została zniesiona, tym samym kreując szanse rozwoju innowacji w nowym otoczeniu i w modelu gospodarki opartej na wiedzy.

Paper examines the impact of economic sanctions on innovation and enterprises’ value and economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. As a consequence of the development of the nuclear program, the United Nations and European Union, inter alia, imposed numerous economic sanctions against Iran. The market of nearly 80 mln inhabitants has been isolated from foreign consumer and investment goods. Iranian companies and research centers have been also affected. Examining the impact of sanctions on the innovation of Iranian businesses, both positive and negative effects have been stated. Most of the significant sanctions have been lifted in 2016, creating thereby new opportunities for innovative growth in new environment and knowledge-based economy.
