Celem niniejszej pracy jest opisanie historii arcybractwa różańca świętego przy kościele św. Marii Magdaleny w Wawrzeńczycach. W pierwszych częściach pracy autorka kreśli kulturowy i historyczno-geograficzny kontekst jego działalności, opisując rozwój nabożeństwa różańcowego oraz historię parafii Wawrzeńczyce. Następnie w układzie chronologicznym omawia dzieje arcybractwa od jego założenia przez Abrahama Bzowskiego w 1600 r., przez ponowne założenie z inicjatywy biskupa Tomasza Oborskiego w 1630 r. do wygaszenia w 1938 r. W szczególności zostały omówione kwestie zasięgu terytorialnego, liczebności, kondycji społecznej członków, oprawy liturgii, wewnętrznej organizacji oraz majątku arcybractwa. Szczegółowo autorka opracowuje lata 1600-1630, dla których podaje nazwiska osób działających w arcybractwie, inwentarz posiadanych przez arcybractwo sprzętów liturgicznych oraz tekst przysięgi składanej przez wstępujących.

The aim of the present article is to present the history of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Rosary at the church of St. Mary Magdalene in Wawrzeńczyce. In the first parts the author outlines the historical and geographical context of the activities of the Confraternity, by describing the development of the rosary service and the history of the parish of Wawrzeńczyce. Then – in chronological order – the author presents the history of the Archconfraternity from its foundation by Abraham Bzowski in 1600, through repeated foundation in 1630, up to its extinction in 1938. The author focuses on the territorial scope of the Confraternity, the number and social condition of its members, its liturgy, internal organization and estate.
