The article deals with two topics. In the first part, it follows the personnel policy of the Cistercian Order in Bohemia, namely using the examples of the monasteries of the order’s line coming from the monastery of Waldsasson, on which he shows how this policy was systematic. The order sought prospective members, raised them and subsequently placed them in necessary positions. In the second part, the text deals with the question of whether the abbots Dietrich of Waldsassen, Heidenreich of Sedlec and Konrad of Zbraslav came to the court of Wenceslas II at the end of the 1280s to support Habsburg interests here. The consideration that they could serve at the sovereign court as allies of Queen Judith against Záviš of Falkenštejn, remains only a hypothesis.

Engaged narration. Narrative strategies of the literary-historical works at the turn of the 14th century: The study discusses the hitherto neglected topic – comparing the testimony of narrative sources, both domestic epics and domestic historiography on the history of the end of the 13th and 14th centuries. It indicates a reflection of the political events from the lives of the Bohemian kings, which appear identically in the domestic German and Old-Czech epics and the same also in the Latin chronicle production. The text also points out that it is mainly the events from the childhood and life of the penultimate Přemyslid king Wenceslas II.

The Second Life of the Zbraslav Chronicle in Historiographical Reflection from the 14th to the end of the 16th Centuries: The text is devoted to the preservation and reception of the Zbraslav Chronicle in the Czech historiography of the 14th-18th centuries. Besides the actual knowledge of the existence of this treatise, the impact of the narrative strategy of Peter of Zittau is predominantly observed in the works of the individual historiographers in the indicated period, mainly then in the opuses by Francis of Prague, Václav Hájek of Libočany, Bohuslav Balbín and Tomáš Pešina of Čechorod.

The study deals with a comparison of the literary and historiographic sources of the Middle Ages in the Czech lands in relation to the life of children and conception of childhood in the written monuments. It starts from the fact that childhood has not yet been assessed in entertaining literature. The text follows the conception of childhood on several levels; the predestination of children, the reflection of the divine child and the education and way of life of children. At the same time, it makes distinctions in the individual genres and gender breakdowns, and also in the assessment of a good and bad society. Using the example of new translations form the domestic German literature and its comparison with the Latin and Old-Czech sources from the Czech lands, it proves that the literary monuments comprise a component of the source historiographic matter. At the same time, it also follows the genesis of literature for children with that, namely a comparison of the earliest evidence on the future fairy tales for children.
