The aim of this study is to present the debate concerning the establishment of the East Asian Community, further referred to as EAC. For the purpose of this thesis two analytical areas have been distinguished. The first area deals with the very conception of the East Asian Community, while the second area concerns its forms. The choice of the conception depends on its role in the creation of EAC. The economic plane introduces the main principles of the trade bloc idea as well as the idea of the trade agreement. The political plane, on the other hand, presents the peace coexistence idea together with the pragmatic partnership. On the socio-cultural plane the dominant role at the moment is played by the main Asian values.

Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie debaty w sprawie utworzenia Wspólnoty Wschodnioazjatyckiej. Na potrzeby pracy wyodrębniono dwa obszary analizy. Pierwszy, obejmuje koncepcję Wspólnoty Wschodnioazjatyckiej. Drugi odnosi się do form Wspólnoty Wschodnioazjatyckiej. Wybór koncepcji został spowodowany rolą, jaką poszczególne koncepcje odgrywają w procesie budowy Wspólnoty Wschodnioazjatyckiej. Na płaszczyźnie gospodarczej zostały przedstawione główne założenia idei bloków handlowych oraz idei porozumień handlowych. Na płaszczyźnie politycznej – założenia idei pokojowego współistnienia oraz idei pragmatycznego partnerstwa. Natomiast na płaszczyźnie społeczno-kulturowej obecnie można mówić o dominującej roli idei wartości azjatyckich.
