I argue that it is through an integrative dialogue based on the Ijing (Book of Chang-es) model of cooperative and cyclical change rather than a Marxist or neo-Marxist dia-lectical model of change based upon the Hegelian model of conflict and replacement that promises the greatest possibility of peaceful coexistence.1 As a case study of a dia-logue between civilizations, I utilize both a mythical and an historical encounter betwe-en Martin Buber, representing the West, and Zhuangzi, representing the East. I show that despite the vast temporal, historic, linguistic and cultural differences, that the dialo-gue between Zhuangzi and Buber is complementary and not adversarial.

In this paper, I endeavor to penetrate to the heart of Janusz Kuczynski’s writings about his concept of universalism and to offer my own deliberations upon it based upon my previous writings concerning universalism and dialogue and on my considerations of necessary conditions for the possibility of universal dialogue taking place. To this end, I posit ten conditions for the possibility of entering into genuine universal dialogue. For clarification of Kuczynski’s concept of universalism, I analyze his concept into meta-universalism (M-Universalism) and holistic universalism (W-Universalism). I also discuss the important role of complementarity in the selection of the content of both types of universalism. Finally, I discuss how the phenomenological epoché can be employed to choose the basic values that constitute the shared values of universalism. In so doing, I make reference to Chinese philosophy to illustrate the universality of ethical values.

Text popisuje existenci člověka v řádu světa, ukotveného v rodině a domově na pozadí současné podstaty bytí v postmoderní společnosti. Partnerství a vztahovost, jako zakládající možnost bezpečného prostoru s možností důvěry, bezpečí a přijetí, otevírá možnost řádného vývoje člověka. Emoční pole rodiny jako kooperující energie s možností naplnění partnerství a rodičovství s přesahem transgeneračním, cílí k pravé lidské podstatné existenci. Selhání, projevující se dysaretací, komplikuje socializační proces a vede k nároku resocializační výchovy.

The article describes the existence of man in the order of the world, anchored in a family and home against the background of the current importance of a human being in the post-modern society. Partnership and relationship bonds, as the founding possibility of secure space with the chance for trust as well as of safety and acceptance, open the ability to a proper development of a man. The emotional field of a family as cooperating energy with the hope to fulfil partnership and parentship with transgenerational overlap aims to the genuinely essential human existence. Failure manifested by dysaretation complicates the process of socialisation and leads to the claim of education of resocialisation.
