After World War II, the sociopolitical situation in Europe changed. At that time, Poland lost its eastern areas and Volynia. The nuns, who worked there were forced to leave their current institutions and move within the borders of the country. It also concerned the Missionary Sisters of St. Benedict. One of the new institutions chosen by the nuns was Zagórów. It was where, in first years after the war, they initiated a number of important social activities. Among others, they run a nursery school, orphanage and a home for the elderly. Unfortunately, an escalating conflict between the Church and the state led to closing down or nationalizing their institutions and, consequently, to limiting their activities in Zagórów. The Missionary Sisters of St. Benedict nuns came to the town in 1945, and left it in 2009.

Po zakończeniu II wojny światowej zmieniła się sytuacja społeczno-polityczna w Europie. W jej wyniku Polska utraciła swoje wschodnie tereny, w tym Wołyń. Pracujące tam zakonnice zmuszone były opuścić dotychczasowe swoje placówki i przenieść się w głąb kraju. Dotyczyło to również sióstr benedyktynek misjonarek, które na jedną ze swoich nowych placówek obrały Zagórów. Tu w pierwszych latach po wojnie prowadziły kilka ważnych dzieł o charakterze opiekuńczo-wychowawczym. Były to: przedszkole, dom dziecka i dom starców. Niestety narastający konflikt na linii państwo – Kościół sprawił, że dzieła te albo zamknięto albo upaństwowiono, ograniczając aktywność tego zgromadzenia w Zagórowie. Zakonnice pojawiły się w roku 1945, a opuściły miasto w 2009 r.
